Who is Divers Zorg there for?
We support adults with a mild intellectual disability (LVG), people with mental health problems (GGZ) and people with dementia in the Nijmegen region. Think of support at home, supported housing, sheltered housing, day activities and personal care.
How do I apply?
You can do that easily through our application form or by telephone. After your application we arrange an introductory meeting, without obligation, to see what you need.
How is the care paid for?
At Divers Zorg you arrange your care with a pgb (a personal budget you use to buy your own care). We do not have a contract for zorg in natura (care arranged directly by the municipality or the care office), so you cannot receive our care straight through the municipality or the care office. You apply for the budget itself at your municipality (the Wmo, the Dutch Social Support Act) or through the CIZ (the national body that assesses long-term care needs) for the Wlz (the Dutch Long-Term Care Act); if you choose a pgb, you can work with us. We help you with that application free of charge.
Will I get a fixed support worker?
Yes. A strong, trusted relationship matters a lot to us. That is why you work as much as possible with one fixed support worker who knows you and your situation.
Can I reach you outside office hours?
Yes. Divers Zorg can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — also in the evening and at the weekend.
Do you work in a culturally sensitive way?
Absolutely. Diversity is in our name and in the way we work. We take account of everyone's background, culture and personal story.
In which area do you provide care?
We are active in Nijmegen and the surrounding municipalities — the Rijk van Nijmegen. Not sure whether your town falls within our area? Do get in touch with us.
What is the difference between supported and sheltered housing?
With supported housing (begeleid wonen) in Nijmegen you live independently, with support at set times — for example help with paperwork, structure and the household. With sheltered housing (beschermd wonen) you live in a housing setting where support is close by and quickly available, for people who need more support and safety. Together we look at which form of housing fits your situation best.
More about our forms of housingDo you offer day activities in Nijmegen?
Yes. Our day activities offer structure, social contact and meaningful things to do, matched to your interests and possibilities. Day activities can be one part of the day or several days a week, and are often combined with individual support.
Read more about day activitiesDo I have to pay a personal contribution?
Usually yes, both for care through the municipality (Wmo) and for care under the Wlz. The CAK (the body that collects the personal contribution) arranges this contribution and sends you the bill; so you do not receive it from us. Under the Wmo it is a fixed amount: in 2026 no more than € 21,80 per month, the same for everyone. Under the Wlz the amount depends on your income and assets; at hetcak.nl you can make a trial calculation. We are happy to think along with you about what this means in your situation.
Do you provide care to people with a migration background or to statushouders?
Yes, very much so. Culturally sensitive, multicultural care is at the heart of our work. Our support workers take account of language, culture and life story, and we also provide care to statushouders (refugees with a residence permit) and asylum seekers in the Nijmegen region.
More about culturally sensitive careCan I also get support at home?
Certainly. With support at home — in Dutch ambulante begeleiding — a fixed support worker comes to your home, in your own surroundings. Together you work on goals such as self-reliance, daily rhythm and social contact. This support usually falls under the Wmo; you can apply easily through our registration form.
Register directlyHow do I apply for individual support in Nijmegen?Individual support
You can register with us directly through the registration form or by phone on 06 4849 6899. If the care is paid from the Wmo, the application runs through your municipality; we are glad to help you with that step. After you register, we plan an intake with a behavioural specialist and a support worker.
More about individual supportWhat does individual support cost?Individual support
At Divers Zorg you always arrange the care with a pgb; we do not have a contract for care in kind. You apply for the budget itself under the Wmo through your municipality, or through the CIZ under the Wlz. Which route applies to you depends on your situation. We are happy to look at it with you without obligation, and we help with the application free of charge.
More about individual supportHow often does the support worker come by?Individual support
We agree that together, and it depends on your goals and your indication (the decision that says which care you may receive). For one person one moment a week is enough, another needs several contact moments. During the multidisciplinary reviews we look at whether the frequency still fits.
More about individual supportWhat is the difference between supported living and sheltered housing?Supported living
With supported living you live independently and the support comes to you at agreed times. With sheltered housing you live in a protected setting where support is close by day and night. Which form fits depends on how much support you need; we are glad to advise you about that.
More about supported livingAm I eligible for supported living in Nijmegen?Supported living
Supported living is there for adults who need support to be able to live independently, for example because of a mild intellectual disability or mental health problems. Usually you need an indication (the decision that says which care you may receive) from the Wmo or the Wlz. In a first meeting, without obligation, we look at your situation together.
More about supported livingHow do I register?Supported living
You can register through our registration form, by phone on 06 4849 6899 or by e-mail. A referrer, a family member or a partner organisation may also contact us. After you register, we plan an intake with a behavioural specialist and a support worker.
More about supported livingWhich indication do I need for sheltered housing?Sheltered housing
For sheltered housing you need an indication from the Wlz (the Dutch Long-Term Care Act) or the Wmo, which you then have paid out as a pgb (a personal budget you use to buy your own care). Which route applies to you depends on your situation. We are glad to help you and the people close to you to apply for the right indication.
More about sheltered housingIs there support at night as well?Sheltered housing
Yes. In our protected living environment, specially trained support workers are there for you day and night. So there is always someone nearby you can fall back on, also outside office hours.
More about sheltered housingCan I keep my own culture and faith in sheltered housing?Sheltered housing
Certainly. Culture-sensitive care is the heart of Divers Zorg. We take account of your background, language, faith and habits — for example around food, holidays and family visits — so that you can really feel at home.
More about sheltered housingWhat exactly does a case manager do?Case management
A case manager keeps an overview of all the care and support you receive. He or she coordinates the organisations involved, watches over the agreements, notices changes in your situation and is the regular contact person for you, your family and other care workers.
More about case managementWho is case management for?Case management
For everyone who has several care workers or organisations involved and risks losing the overview. Think of people with dementia, with mental health problems or with an intellectual disability combined with other questions for help — and of the family members who care for them.
More about case managementHow is case management paid for?Case management
With us you arrange case management with a pgb, applied for under the Wmo or the Wlz. We are glad to sort this out together with you in a first meeting, without obligation.
More about case managementWhich activities do the day activities offer?Day activities
We match that to the group and to what you like to do: from creative and practical activities to exercise, cooking together and moments of meeting others. During the first meeting and the first period we discover together which activities give you energy.
More about day activitiesHow many half-days can I come to the day activities?Day activities
The number of half-days depends on your indication and on your wishes. Some people come one half-day a week, others several days. We look together at what fits and what is workable, and we review that regularly.
More about day activitiesCan I come and have a look first, without obligation?Day activities
Yes, and gladly. You are very welcome to come and meet us — together with someone close to you if you prefer that — so that you can get a feel for the atmosphere before you decide. Call 06 4849 6899 to make an appointment.
More about day activitiesWhich help falls under personal care?Personal care
Personal care covers help with daily physical care, such as washing or showering, getting dressed, skin and hair care and support with going to the toilet. During the intake we map out together exactly what you need.
More about personal careCan I combine personal care with other care?Personal care
Yes. Many of our clients combine personal care with, for example, individual support, home help or day activities. Because everything is with one organisation, the different kinds of care fit together well and you keep the same familiar faces.
More about personal careHow quickly can the care start?Personal care
After you register, we contact you quickly for an intake with a behavioural specialist and a support worker. How soon the care can start after that also depends on your indication. We can be reached 24/7, so you can always call us to talk about your situation.
More about personal careAm I eligible for home help through the Wmo?Home help
If the housework no longer works on your own because of illness, age or a disability, you can apply to your municipality under the Wmo for home help. We can help you with that application and are glad to explain how it works in your municipality.
More about home helpDo I get the same person in my home each time?Home help
We work with regular staff as much as possible. That way you know who is coming, trust can grow, and your home help knows your house and your wishes. In case of illness or holidays we arrange suitable cover in consultation with you.
More about home helpCan home help be combined with other care?Home help
Yes. Home help combines well with, for example, personal care, individual support or day activities. Everything then runs through one organisation, with one regular contact person.
More about home helpWhat is the difference between group support and day activities?Group support
With day activities, a meaningful way to spend the day is central; with support in a group, the emphasis is on working on personal goals together with others, such as social skills and structure. In practice the two forms complement each other well — we are glad to advise you on what suits you.
More about group supportDo you take my language and culture into account?Group support
Yes. Working in a culture-sensitive way is the foundation of Divers Zorg. Our support workers have an eye for your background, your faith and your habits, and our groups are diverse. That way you feel at ease sooner and really seen.
More about group supportHow is group support paid for?Group support
With us you pay for support in a group with a pgb, applied for under the Wmo or the Wlz. We are glad to work out together with you which scheme applies to you, in a first meeting without obligation.
